“The Wetskills Water Challenge uses a new way of authentic learning and international networking for students and young professionals with a passion for water. The Challenges take place worldwide, usually during international water related events. In mixed teams, the international participants work on real-life and transdisciplinary cases from companies and (governmental) organizations. The main task is to think out-of-box and develop realistic, applicable concepts. If the solution is feasible enough, it can be further developed into practice via a WetsNext project.
Since its beginning in 2010, the Wetskills Water Challenge has taken place more than 30 times in 20 countries all over the world.
This year, the 5th Netherlands edition will take place in Leeuwarden, the 2018 European Capital of Culture, and in alignment with the European Water Technology Week.
Students and young professionals from the Netherlands, South Africa, Oman, Canada, Israel and Egypt, will compete for two weeks and present their solutions to the challenges in two minute pitches during a dedicated session at the EWTW on the 26th of September.
Come and see these pitches in the grand final of Wetskills competition! “
