Since 2004, Landustrie B.V. from Sneek has been affiliated with Wetsus and Water Alliance, as part of its strategy to build its own technology portfolio and increase the knowledge intensity of the company. One of the results is the foundation of the successful sister company DeSah B.V. DeSah’s mission is the development and application of innovative and sustainable technologies and concepts within the (decentralized) water chain.
Based on the knowledge from the Wetsus research, the company has become a global leader in the field of decentralized wastewater treatment. The first demonstration project of DeSah was in Sneek, a town in the province of Friesland. In this project the black (toilet) water in 32 houses was disconnected from the rest of the sewage system and treated successfully. It attracted a lot of international attention and soon led to a second project in which an entire neighborhood in Sneek is provided with the DeSaH concept.
Together with WaterCampus partners, universities and suppliers, DeSah has continuously perfected its innovative technology over the years. Currently it is rolled out worldwide. Desah has realized a number of projects in the Netherlands and the Ukraine and is working on a number of projects in Sweden and Canada.
