Leeuwarden

Capital of water technology

Leeuwarden is an authentic water city, not only because it hosts the finish of the longest ice skating tour in the Netherlands or because of the water in the city’s canals, but mainly because of its specialization in water technology. With its high concentration of companies and education/science institutes and the dedicated research and innovation infrastructure all in the field of water technology, Leeuwarden has become the European meeting point for talent and business in this field. Welcome to the capital of water technology! On top of that, Leeuwarden, European capital of culture in 2018, is a vibrant city inhabited by some 100.000 fairly young and highly educated people. www.leeuwarden.eu
