EIP Water 2016
The conference Cities & Water is organised back-to-back with the EIP Water 2016 Conference, which takes place on February 10th in Leeuwarden. The EIP Water brings together hundreds of water innovation experts from all over Europe.
For both, Mayors & Water and the EIP Water, a water innovation diner is organised as a ticketed event and takes place in the evening of February 10th. Ferd Crone, mayor of the city of Leeuwarden and Commissioner Vella will open the innovation diner.
Urban Water Challenges
European cities already face various water challenges: priority substances; water scarcity, climate change. At the same time replacing ageing infrastructure could facilitate the implementation of the circular economy and smart cities. (more on urban water challenges)
Mayors and Water will bring together key stakeholders like the OECD, EIB, EEA, together with European city networks, European water platforms and EIP Water Action Groups.
The Dutch presidency of the European Union, together with the TRIO partner countries Slovakia and Malta have defined water as one their shared priority areas.
Looking forward to see you in Leeuwarden!
